“It may seem obvious that men perceive women in sexy bathing suits as objects, but now there’s science to back it up.”
“New research shows that, in men, the brain areas associated with handling tools and the intention to perform actions light up when viewing images of women in bikinis.”
I feel the research being referred to in this article could be related to that of the research being quoted on the christian relationship advice blog in my previous post as both were completed in Princeton and discuss similar findings and structure.
I find it interesting how to two articles talk about the same topic adopting a different tone of voice. Not to mention the fact that this article fails to include biblical references and bold opinions.
In my initial research I am looking at potential avenues for development of ideas, for example this research could help inform my project looking at the gaze in a social arena, (transgender and women being my main focus) Despite this I am fully aware much more in depth research must be undertaken and other elements considered. I:E do women also depersonalize men in modern society where men are too presented as sexual objects?
